Ritchie, Keith vs City of Ny, et al.
Case # 712972/2024, Supreme Court - Queens, June 25, 2024
Complaint
Description: On or about May 7th, 2023, Plaintiff was forcibly seized by PO Charles Grimm and PO Gerard Lyle while he was standing lawfully outside of his own residence. PO Grimm and PO Lyle had no warrant to arrest Plaintiff or to search his property. Nevertheless, PO's forcibly detained Plaintiff and then searched his person. The search yielded no results. While he was detained, PO's searched his residence, even though they lacked a warrant or any reasonable suspicions that contraband or evidence of crime was in his home. This search also yielded nothing. After the warrantless searches, Plaintiff was released from police custody. No criminal charges were filed against him.
