Description: On May 6, 2022, Plaintiff Lanette ("Larry") Howard was lawfully in the premises of Made in Puerto Rico Lounge in the Bronx, NY. Defendant employees of Made in Puerto Rico proceeded to punch, grab, kick, and hold down Plaintiff. Defendant NYPD Officers Crystal Washington and John Doe then arrested Plaintiff. The Defendant Officers also verbally abused Plaintiff and did not attend to her necessary medical care. After transporting Plaintiff to the NYPD 40th Precinct, the Defendant Officers wrongly placed Plaintiff in the Male Section of the jail and falsely charged her with multiple criminal offenses. Description: On June 4, 2020, plaintiffs attended the FTP protest that began at "the Hub" at 149th and 3rd avenue in the Bronx. NYPD officers "kettled" the protestors as the marched through the streets until they were in a location from which there was no exit. The protestors asked to leave but were not permitted to do so. Officers began striking protestors with batons and shields, threw bicycles into the crowd, and spray pepper spray indiscriminately under the supervisions of Officer Monahan. Officers began arresting the protestors using handcuffs that were too tight, at time lifting the protestors off the ground using the handcuffs. The protestors then spent between 6 and 20 hours in police custody
