Description: On February 25, 2022, around 10:30 p.m., Plaintiff was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by NYPD officers, including Defendant Tatar and Officer John Doe, near Mermaid Avenue and 33rd Street in Brooklyn. The driver was arrested for a traffic violation, and Plaintiff, the vehicle owner, refused to give consent to search the vehicle. Upset by the refusal, Defendant Tatar took the Plaintiff's vehicle without permission and drove it to the 60th Precinct, leaving Plaintiff stranded. Upon arriving at the precinct, Plaintiff found that her vehicle had been unlawfully searched. Plaintiff alleges that this seizure and search were unconstitutional and part of a broader NYPD practice.

Description: On September 12, 2020, Plaintiff was driving his vehicle with two passengers in Kings County, New York. Unmarked NYPD vehicles tried to pull over Plaintiff’s vehicle. When Plaintiff eventually pulled over, NYPD officers—including Ronald Louie and Steven Tater—surrounded the vehicle. The officers forcibly removed Plaintiff from his vehicle, slamming him face first into the ground. The officers then punched Plaintiff in the face and kicked him in the head, causing Plaintiff to lose consciousness. Description: On or about December 17th, 2018, Plaintiff was lawfully present when he was approached by PO Steven Tatar of the NYPD. Plaintiff was stopped, searched, and handcuffed by PO Tatar. PO Tatar did not read Plaintiff his legal rights and refused to inform him why he was being arrested. Plaintiff was then taken to the local precinct where he was photographed, fingerprinted, and detained in a holding cell. PO Tatar then falsely and maliciously instigated the commencement of the criminal prosecution of Plaintiff. As a result of the reckless and negligent manner in which PO Tatar falsely arrested and imprisoned him, Plaintiff has sustained permanent physical, psychological and emotional harm.

Description: On May 4, 2018, Plaintiffs George Rentas and Angel Acevedo were falsely arrested by ten unidentified NYPD officers while on the Coney Island Boardwalk between West 15th Street and Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. The complaint does not state the specific circumstances that led to the arrest and only states that the Plaintiffs were arrested "without reasonable suspicion or probable cause to believe that Plaintiffs committed a crime." The Plaintiffs were held for three days before being released when the DA's office refused to prosecute.
