Description: On October 18, 2018, Plaintiff King, was arrested by Defendant Brinkley and charged with two counts of assault. The night before, a man walked up to another man in front of a bar and slashed him in the face, causing a laceration. The victim bled profusely. Witnesses said the incident happened quickly and the perpetrator wore a hoodie, blocking them from seeing his face, but were able to give a general description. He fled towards Houston St and the victim’s friend chased him. Police responded and found a man in a subway station who matched the suspect's description with blood on his shirt. Description: On June 29, 2014, Plaintiff was in the lobby of his girlfriend and mother's apartment building when NYPD members approached him, tackled him to the ground, tasered him, choked him, and assaulted him with a baton and otherwise. Plaintiff had to be taken to the hospital for treatment and for the taser points to be removed. Plaintiff was denied access to his inhaler and allergy medications. Plaintiff was held in jail for approximately 24 hours. Plaintiff suffered a large scar to his left shoulder, pain, bruises, scars, and back pain, as well as great emotional injuries.
