Description: On January 27, 2018, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Christopher Santiago was a lawful passenger in a motor vehicle in the vicinity of 80th Street and 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, when NYPD officers, including Officers Rony Sharoubim, Michael Randazzo, Jason Frias, Stevenson Laporte, and Lieutenant Joseph Wernersbach, unlawfully stopped the vehicle. Santiago was forcibly removed from the vehicle, handcuffed, and falsely arrested without probable cause. The officers conducted an unlawful search of both the vehicle and Santiago, finding no illegal items. He was detained for over 20 hours before the District Attorney's Office declined to prosecute.
