Case # 14CV07986, U.S. District Court - Southern District NY, October 17, 2014, ended October 22, 2018
$93,000 Settlement
Complaint
Description: On September 24, 2012, while plaintiff was standing in front of a building, defendants approached plaintiff, punched her in the face, struck her in the back and body, slammed her head into the ground, and handcuffed her. Defendants then transported plaintiff to the 44th precinct. At the precinct, plaintiff asked defendant Roth why she had been arrested. In response, defendant Roth maliciously tightened plaintiff's handcuffs. Plaintiff was subsequently transported to a hospital and released. Defendants fabricated charges against plaintiff to justify her arrest. All charges brought against her were ultimately dismissed.
