Description: Mr. Crespo was in his apartment when three officers knocked on the door. When he opened the door, the officers pushed past him and asked if he had a case pending in court. Mr. Crespo showed them documentation that the misdemeanor charge against him had been dismissed.
The officers accused Mr. Crespo of burglary in the 2nd degree and claimed there was a crowbar covered in blood, which was used during the burglary, that had Mr. Crespo's DNA on it. The officers and other defendants withheld evidence that would have cleared Mr. Crespo, which resulted in his detention and incarceration.

Description: On or about September 30, 2012 Plaintiff was lawfully present at a night club when Det. Jose Morales and POs John Doe 1-10 arrived after receiving information Plaintiff had committed one or more crimes. Det. Morales received information establishing Plaintiff's innocence but regardless arrested Plaintiff and took him to the 10th Precinct where Plaintiff was threatened with criminal prosecution unless Plaintiff provided POs with information Plaintiff did not possess. Because Plaintiff could not provide the requested information Det. Morales initiated a malicious prosecution against Plaintiff and did not provide prosecutors evidence of Plaintiff's innocence.
