Description: On August 26, 2015, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Dontayveus Thomas was a passenger in a taxicab near Tompkins Avenue and Van Buren Street in Brooklyn when NYPD Officers Frank Ingenito and Reginald Smith stopped the vehicle without cause. Mr. Thomas exited the cab and was pursued on foot by Officer Ingenito and in a vehicle by Officer Smith. The officers allegedly threatened to shoot him, slammed him to the ground, and subjected him to excessive physical force, including punching and kicking him, while making taunting remarks.
