Complaint
Description: On or about February 13, 2016, at approximately 1:00 AM, Khayree Stewart was allegedly falsely arrested, falsely imprisoned, and subjected to illegal search and seizure by officers of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in the Bronx, New York. During the incident, Stewart claims that he was assaulted, resulting in a fractured wrist. He was put in a chokehold, handcuffed tightly, and dropped to the ground. Officer Anibal Vasquez, of the 48th NYPD Precinct, was specifically named in the allegations. Stewart was detained for around 22 hours before being released with a desk appearance ticket on or about February 14, 2016. The charges were eventually dismissed on or about August 10, 2017​.

Description: On or about April 6, 2013, plaintiff Philip Jean-Laurent called the police to 260 East 176th Street in the Bronx for personal protection during a dispute over rent with his then-girlfriend, Latechar Cornelius. Defendant NYPD officers Jerry Zender and Alicea arrested and jailed plaintiff after Cornelius claimed she was in fear for her life and safety. Plaintiff was detained for 24 or more hours until his arraignment and was then re-arrested at the 113th Precinct by Defendant Detectives Chianese and Det. Doe #1 for an alleged unrelated criminal contempt offense, at which point he was jailed for another roughly 24 or more hours.
