Complaint
Description: On or about August 29, 2018, the plaintiff was in a clothing store. After browsing, he went to leave but was locked in, forcibly detained, and assaulted by three store employees who accused him of shoplifting. During this time, the plaintiff was struck about his body and sustained physical injuries. The employees called the police, and P.O. Simpson of the 103rd Precinct arrived and conducted a cursory investigation. After searching the plaintiff's backpack and determining he had not stolen anything, the plaintiff requested P.O. Simpson to arrest the three employees who had assaulted and unlawfully detained him. Instead of arresting the employees, P.O. Simpson arrested the plaintiff and charged him with criminal...
