Description: On September 9, 2014, plaintiffs Kyle Depew, Grayson Earle, and Yates Mckee, members of a political activist group called the "Illuminator Collective," were projecting political speech onto the Metropolitan Museum of Art that evening as part of their then-ongoing projector-based political speech awareness campaign. Plaintiffs were using a van-based projector to criticize an event being held for David Koch, a major donor to the Met. NYPD Dep. Inspector Jessica Corey, commanding officer of the NYPD Central Park Precinct, directed her driver, Defendant NYPD officer Cohen, to stop the plaintiffs' van, issue them various summons and citations, and seize their projector equipment as arrest evidence.
