Complaint
Description: On June 22, 2021, Plaintiffs Cid and Canales were driving on the GW Bridge when their car was rear-ended. Plaintiff Cid was dragged from her vehicle and punched by the other driver. Plaintiffs called 911 and when the NYPD Defendants arrived, Plaintiffs were arrested instead of the other driver. Plaintiffs even showed the defendants a video of Plaintiff Cid being dragged and punched. The Defendant officers told Plaintiffs if they wanted to press charges against the other driver they would be arrested as well. Despite expressing they did not want to be arrested, Defendant Montoya handcuffed them. Plaintiffs were held for six hours at the police precinct.
