The officers requested plaintiff provide them with identification, and when plaintiff asked why he needed to provide identification as he had not acted unlawfully, the officers began screaming at plaintiff and demanding identification. Before plaintiff could react, the officers rushed towards him, grabbed him by his arms, and handcuffed him. An NYPD car approached and the group moved out of the way allowing it to pass as they returned to school. Shortly after, an officer entered Ali's school cafeteria, grabbed his arm without notice, kicked his legs from under him to bring him to the ground and then handcuffed Ali while pressing the weight of his knee into Ali's back.
