Description: On September 3, 2021, Plaintiffs were in a vehicle when Defendant NYPD police officers stopped them, removed them from the vehicle, and unlawfully searched them. No contraband was recovered from the search. However, the officers proceeded to tightly handcuff and arrest Plaintiffs on the pretext of conducting an investigation, although the officers would not disclose the basis of the investigation. Plaintiffs were taken to the precinct and detained for about 2 days, during which the officers maliciously provided the DA's office with misleading evidence and allegations against them.
