Description: On April 6, 2022, Plaintiff, driving his fully insured and registered business vehicle, was profiled and singled out for being a black male at a police check point by Sergeant Caligeuri and Officer Scudiero. Plaintiff was taken off the road to a dead end. The officers asked Plaintiff to present his Driver's License and Registration for the vehicle within thirty seconds, which was not possible since Plaintiff's business had multiple vehicles. They refused to inform Plaintiff of the reason for asking for these documents when Plaintiff had not ostensibly broken any laws. Complaint
Description: On September 5, 2016, plaintiff was shot in the arm and was subsequently in need of medical assistance. Defendant police officers instead arrested and handcuffed plaintiff without provocation or justification. Defendant officers did ultimately call an ambulance and transported plaintiff to the hospital where he remained handcuffed. Plaintiff was subsequently taken to the precinct, where he continued to request medical assistance. After another visit to the hospital, plaintiff was taken to central booking where the DA office declined to prosecute. Plaintiff was in custody for over 24 hours.
