Description: Plaintiff went to surrender himself at the 13th Precinct due to Defendant Officers accusations that he violated an order of protection. Despite Plaintiff providing them with exculpatory paperwork that proved he did not violate the order, they still arrested him and charged him with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (PL 215.51[b][v]) and Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (PL 215.51 [b][i]), which were later dismissed.

Description: On January 14, 2012, Plaintiff was arrested by PO Brigid Sullivan and other NYPD officers. The arrest was not supported by probable cause and was unlawful. The police did not investigate the allegations properly. Upon information and belief, members of the NYPD, including PO Sullivan, unlawfully arrested Plaintiff in order to satisfy the unlawful demands of an influential private citizen. Plaintiff remained in custody at the precinct for approximately 10 hours, then kept at Central Booking for several hours before he was arraigned. On or about April 17, 2012, all criminal charges were terminated and dismissed in Plaintiff’s favor.
