Description: On November 17, 2022, Detective Manzi falsely arrested the plaintiff and charged him with robbing two stores at gunpoint on October 27, 2022. The perpetrator stole cash registers and fled on a citibike. Lead detective Manzi believed that these robberies and another one committed a few days later were part of a pattern by the same perpetrator. Fingerprints and other evidence was collected, and witnesses were interviewed. The fingerprints did not match the Plaintiff's, and three of four witnesses did not identify him. Despite the evidence that Plaintiff was not the perpetrator, Detective Manzi arrested and charged him with two of the robberies. Sergeant Hillman, Manzi's supervisor, signed off on his work.
