Description: On January 7, 2019, while lawfully present near 106-38 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. in Queens, NY, the plaintiff was unlawfully arrested and charged with second-degree murder and related charges without legal justification. The victim, Renne Staton, was murdered on February 15, 2012, and found with a laundry bag and scarf. Video surveillance showed an individual, not the plaintiff, transporting the body. None of the DNA from the scene matched the plaintiff's DNA. The plaintiff cooperated with the NYPD's investigation, which found that calls made from the victim's phone hours before her body was found were linked to another individual, the actual murderer.
