Description: On April 25, 2014, Plaintiff Darius Burris was assaulted with excessive force by Defendants Correction Officer Spatula, Nassau County Police Department Detective John Dezelic, and other unnamed officers. On May 1, 2014, Plaintiff was deprived of his liberty by A.D.A. Sloane and A.D.A. Carrado of the Nassau County D.A.'s Office when they failed to release him after not indicting him, and he spent an excess of 40 days incarcerated as a result.
