Description: On February 26, 2024, in Manhattan, Plaintiff Khari Scarborough called 911 after his girlfriend damaged his belongings and falsely claimed ownership. Defendants NYPD Officers Pimentel, Oliveira, Clarke, and others arrived, spoke with the girlfriend, and ordered Scarborough into the apartment upon seeing a toy gun replica. He was falsely arrested, searched, and handcuffed without explanation. Officers unlawfully searched his bookbag containing $5,000 from a lawsuit settlement, taking the cash and receipts. Scarborough was detained for an hour, taken to the 7th Precinct, and held from noon until 7:00 pm, before being released with a Desk Appearance Ticket for March 17, 2024. Description: On March 17, 2022, Mrs. Butler was inside of 383 East 141st Street in the Bronx. Without an arrest warrant, Defendant officers falsely arrested, unlawfully imprisoned and illegally searched and seized Mrs. Butler. Defendants tackled her to the ground and placed their knees on her person. Plaintiff was subsequently arrested and charged with crimes that Defendants falsely claimed were committed by Mrs. Butler. Defendants then intentionally provided false information that would be likely to influence a prosecutor's decision to charge plaintiff with a crime.
