Complaint
Description: On May 30, 2020, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Plaintiff Ezagui was observing a protest at 2273 Church Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. Although not participating in the protest, Ezagui was lawfully present, observing interactions between police and protestors. During the evening, police officers, including the defendants, charged the crowd. While standing near a gate, Ezagui was assaulted by Officer John Doe without provocation, causing him to fall. Defendant Officer McCann was nearby when the assault occurred. Ezagui was not arrested or charged with any crime, but he was taken to a hospital by ambulance. He sustained serious injuries that required multiple surgeries and led to permanent, life-altering consequence...
