Complaint
Description: On July 8, 2012, plaintiff was with several of his friends in the Bronx and was approached by defendant NYPD Officer Pizarro and a group of John Doe defendant officers. Defendants searched plaintiff and his friends without a warrant or reasonable suspicion. Despite not finding any illegal substances on plaintiff, defendant officers claimed to see marijuana on the ground nearby and arrested plaintiff. When he was taken into custody, defendants falsely told the Bronx DA that plaintiff was found in possession of marijuana, which caused plaintiff to be charged with crimes. Defendants also searched plaintiffs cell phone and automobile. The criminal charges against plaintiff were dismissed on July 8, 2013.
