Complaint
Description: On July 12, 2016, NYPD Sergeant Feldman and Officers Virella and Griffin assaulted, battered, and falsely arrested the plaintiff on a lower Manhattan sidewalk. The plaintiff was then falsely imprisoned, held at the 1st Precinct and, later, at the Manhattan Detention Complex. The NYPD maliciously prosecuted the plaintiff, who remained imprisoned for approximately three weeks. On August 17, 2017, all charges against the plaintiff were dismissed. The plaintiff suffered physical and emotional damage due to these events.

Description: On December 15, 2024 Plaintiff was lawfully at Whitehall Terminal when PO Juan Virella, PO John Doe, and PO John Roe approached and, due to racial prejudice, falsely accused him of having committed a crime. Plaintiff was wrongfully imprisoned and subjected to a malicious prosecution until the criminal action was dismissed in favor of Plaintiff. Plaintiff suffered loss of liberty, emotional distress, humiliation, loss of enjoyment of life, scorn, ridicule, embarrassment, and reputational damage as a result of this incident.
