Description: On January 21, 2023, Plaintiff was lawfully present insider her home in the Bronx with one of her three children. The child’s father came over, started an argument, and physically assaulted Plaintiff, including slamming her against a door and strangling her until she lost consciousness. Upon regaining consciousness, Plaintiff called 911 and then her mother. Plaintiff’s mother quickly arrived with Plaintiff’s two youngest children, followed by Defendant officers. The officers began to hostilely question Plaintiff, seemingly indifferent to the fact that she had just suffered a brutal physical assault.
