Goodwin, Dina vs City of New York, et al.
Case # 155547/2018,
Supreme Court - New York, July 10, 2018
Complaint
Description: On June 13, 2017, Officer Cauchi, along with another officer, arrested the Plaintiff without probable cause or any evidence of a crime. Prior to the arrest, Ms. Toure, a home health aide for the Plaintiff's mother, had accused the Plaintiff of assault, despite having no proof or witnesses. The Plaintiff's mother, who was present at the scene, confirmed that no assault had occurred. Nevertheless, on July 14, 2017, despite the fact that Ms. Toure's claims were objectively unbelievable and had been repeatedly contradicted, Officer Cauchi signed a misdemeanor complaint to initiate legal action against the Plaintiff.
