Summary

On February 21 2008, at approximately 11:15 PM, [redacted] was sitting alone in her apartment at [redacted] in Manhattan, when she received a telephone call from another tenant in her building who told her that undercover officers in a yellow cab had her nephew, [redacted] sitting in the street and were going through his vehicle, a black Acura. [redacted] left her apartment and went down to the street outside her building. When she got outside she began asking the two officers present, identified through investigation as Sgt. John Rajan and PO William Glynn, why they had [redacted] sitting on the ground in handcuffs. Sgt. Rajan was an Arab or Indian Male, 5'0" tall, with black hair and a dark complexion, wearing a grey Gap hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and black timberland boots who [redacted] identified as being a sergeant because of his gold badge. Sgt. Rajan told her to "shut the fuck up" and to mind her business and to "get the hell away from here." [redacted] told the officers that as a civilian and relative she has a right to know why they stopped [redacted] Sgt. Rajan also told [redacted] that if she didn't cross the street he was going to "arrest [her] ass." (In her initial complaint, [redacted] stated that Sgt. Rajan just said he would lock her up but also told her to "get the fuck out of here".)
