At 7:10 a.m. on February 12, 2016, [redacted] was alone in her family's apartment at [redacted] in Manhattan when there was a knock on the door. Det. Tara Gugliucciello of the 13th Precinct Detective Squad, along with, PO Patricia Dejesus, PO Vincent Catania, and Sgt. Neils Veras of the 13th Precinct – had come to speak to [redacted] brother, [redacted], for whom there was an active I-Card. The officers demanded that [redacted] opened the door; [redacted] refused to open the door and said she had a pit bull inside the house. [redacted] alleged that Det. Gugliuciello told her she would knock down the door and come inside and that Sgt. Veras alleged he would shoot her and her dogs (Allegations A through C).
