On March 29, 2016 at approximately 7:00am, Detective Andre Parker and Detective Anthony Pagnotta both of the 88th Precinct Detective Squad went to [redacted] in Brooklyn. Det. Parker and Det. Pagnotta spoke to [redacted] and showed him still photographs, obtained from a robbery video, depicting a male individual they believed to be [redacted]. Det. Parker and Det. Pagnotta told [redacted] that he is under arrest and they need him to come back to the 88th Precinct Detective Squad office with them to answer questions in connection with a series of robberies (Allegation A and B).
At the 88th Precinct Detective Squad office, Det. Parker and Det. Pagnotta began to interview [redacted] about the robberies they were investigating. During the interview Det. Parker allegedly stated "Say you are confused or you do not know again, and I'm going to reach over this table and hit you in your face." (Allegation C).
After the approximate 90 minute interview of [redacted] a friend of [redacted] and a second person of interest in the robbery investigation, and his sister, [redacted] came into the 88th Precinct stationhouse. Det. Parker and Det. Pagnotta conducted an interview with [redacted] about the robberies they were investigating. Det. Parker and Det. Pagnotta presented him with the same photographs and videos of the robbery they showed [redacted] and [redacted] stated that the males the video and photographs were not him or [redacted]. [redacted] pointed out physical differences between the perpetrators and himself and [redacted] and it became clear to Det. Parker and Det. Pagnotta that the two people in their still photographs and videos were neither [redacted] nor [redacted].
Det. Pagnotta then drafted a "Voided arrest" for [redacted] and then let [redacted] go without the filing of any criminal charges.
