On October 26, 2016, at approximately 11:45 p.m., [redacted] was walking home with an unidentified male on Dumont Avenue in Brooklyn, with a gun he found next to a nearby McDonald's on Linden Boulevard in his right jacket pocket. When [redacted] was between Lincoln Avenue and Autumn Avenue, Police Officer Rafal Korycki of Patrol Borough Brooklyn North Anti-Crime stepped out of a car, leaving Police Officer Denisha Pierre and Sgt. Ian Scheinblum in the car. PO Korycki stopped the unidentified male, asked him about why [redacted] had run away, and frisked his pocket, then ran after [redacted] when he realized the pocket contained only a cell phone (allegations A and B). [redacted] started to run away but immediately slipped on the wet ground and fell, and the gun fell out of his pocket. He stood up and began to run again without picking up the things that fell. After he had gotten five to seven feet farther, PO Korycki wrapped his arms around him from behind and tackled him to the ground, turned [redacted] onto his stomach and handcuffed him, then punched [redacted] two or three times in the right eye (allegation C).
