On October 25th, 2019, [redacted] accused [redacted] of stealing three hundred dollars from an ATM machine he had been using at a Bank of America in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. [redacted] called 911, and Police Officers Stephani Santiago and David Giza of the 68th Precinct responded. PO Giza and PO Santiago determined that [redacted] did not actually see [redacted] steal his money, that there were no witnesses to the crime, and that surveillance footage from the bank could not be accessed. Police Officer Thomas Smith and Sergeant Joseph Corrado of the 68th Precinct then responded to the bank. PO Smith threatened to arrest [redacted] (Allegation A: Abuse of Authority – Threat of Arrest, substantiated) and stopped [redacted] from leaving the bank (Allegation B: Abuse of Authority – Stop, substantiated).
