Summary

On August 19, 2021, at approximately 3:54 p.m., [redacted] was parked by a fire hydrant on Bushwick Avenue, in between Cook Street and Varet Street, in Brooklyn. [redacted] friend, was in the front passenger's side of the vehicle. PO Piotr Trusewicz and PO Jonathan Galindosanchez of the 90th Precinct approached [redacted] vehicle. PO Galindosanchez asked [redacted] for his driver's license and registration. [redacted] tried to record the officers with his phone. PO Galindosanchez allegedly told [redacted] that if he touched his phone, he would be arrested (Allegations A and B: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]).
PO Galindosanchez asked [redacted] to exit his vehicle. While escorting [redacted] to a police vehicle, [redacted] said, "Y'all fucking up." PO Galindosanchez stated, "Who's fucking up?" [redacted] alleged that PO Galindosanchez threatened to arrest [redacted] if he removed anything from his pocket, called his father, raised his voice, talked back to PO Galindosanchez, or if [redacted] used his phone. PO Galindosanchez instructed [redacted] to exit the vehicle and he complied. PO Galindosanchez asked [redacted] if he had weapons (Allegation F: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]). PO Galindosanchez frisked [redacted] (Allegation G: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]). [redacted] asked for his bookbag, which was in [redacted] vehicle. PO Galindosanchez asked to see the bookbag and searched it with PO Trusewicz' assistance (Allegations H and I: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]).
