Description: On August 6, 2021, Plaintiff Lourdes Gonzalez was lawfully present in the vicinity of 60th street waiting for her father to come home, at which time she was approached by Defendants. Plaintiff was asked if she had any illegal drugs to which she said no and opened her purse to show them there was only her medication. Nevertheless, the officers unlawfully seized Plaintiff's medication from her without any legal justification to do so. Description: On July 12, 2019, Plaintiff was leaving a convenience store and walking on the street when he was approached by officers. The officers falsely claimed that there was a warrant out for Plaintiff's arrest. Plaintiff told officers to check his identification because his record should be clean. Officers unlawfully seized and searched Plaintiff while doing a background check. Officers then transported Plaintiff to the precinct, detained, and interrogated without being given Miranda warnings. Plaintiff was falsely charged with possession and sale of marijuana. All charges against Plaintiff were subsequently dismissed.
