Description: On January 19, 2021, while lawfully present near 349 East 116th Street in New York, NY, the plaintiff was unlawfully approached, searched, assaulted, battered, arrested, and detained by defendants John Peloso, Luis Hiraldo-Garcia, Jose Ramos, and John Does 1-10, in an excessive manner without legal justification. The plaintiff was waiting in line outside a funeral home for a friend's service when he noticed a commotion involving civilians and officers across the street. He began recording the interaction with his phone while standing on the curb. Without warning, five officers approached and began pushing and punching him in the head and face, causing him to fall.
