Description: On September 8, 2023, Plaintiffs were lawfully present at a commercial location in Brooklyn when NYPD officers began to enter the premises. The officers arrested the Plaintiffs at gunpoint, despite the fact that plaintiffs were all compliant and did not attempt to resist arrest or flee. NYPD Officer Anthony Carolei completed, or caused to be completed, arrest paperwork which falsely claimed that the Plaintiffs were in criminal possession of weapons. The arrest paperwork was forwarded to the Kings County District Attorney's office, but prosecution was declined and the Plaintiffs were released from custody without being charged.
