Description: On the evening of July 30, 2019, Courtney Schloss found himself in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle at 166 Scholes Street in Brooklyn. While there, he was approached by several NYPD officers, including Francisco Martireyes, Rodney Fernandez, and Henry Daverin. Without any lawful justification, the officers initiated an unlawful stop and search, leading to Schloss's arrest. During the encounter, they used excessively tight handcuffs, which caused him considerable discomfort and emotional distress. Subsequently, he was taken to the precinct and wrongfully detained for nearly a month before all charges against him were dismissed on November 6, 2019.

Description: On August 13, 2019, while lawfully present at Bushwick Avenue and Moore Street in Brooklyn, NY, the plaintiff was illegally stopped, questioned, searched, assaulted, battered, arrested, and excessively detained by the defendants, including Martireyes, Hernandez, Daverin, and John Does 1-10, without legal justification and solely because of his race, religion, national origin, or other improper characteristics. The defendants unlawfully approached the plaintiff, accusing him of committing criminal activities, and conducted an illegal search of his person by rifling through his pockets and patting him down without his consent.
