Description: On February 12, 2021, Hillary Wright was assaulted by several NYPD officers while attending a demonstration for Black lives. The officers charged at Wright and piled on top of her, inhibiting her breathing, and then yanked her from the ground by her arms and transported her to NYPD's 7th Precinct. The officers did not have a warrant for Ms. Wright's arrest and did not have individualized probable cause to seize, detain, or arrest her. Description: On May 30, 2020, plaintiff Christophe Bensmaine was running errands when he noticed a police brutality protest in the wake of the George Floyd murder and decided to join. The demonstration was orderly and calm, however more police started to arrive to the protest and by 5:25 PM there were fifty police officers including all named defendants, Inspector Dowling, Deputy Inspector Hillery, PO Cascio, PO Cirikiovich, PO Dottavio, PO Johnson, PO Monestine, PO Mosquera, PO Olivares, and PO Singh.
