Case # 516528/2017, Supreme Court - Kings, September 5, 2017
Complaint
Description: On November 19, 2016, decedent ERCKSON GOMEZ BRITO was shot and killed by Defendant NYPD officers JENNIFER GARCIA and ANDRIS BISOGNO while lawfully present in the 9th floor hallway of 362 Sutter Avenue (also known as the Van Dyke Houses) in Brooklyn, NY. The complaint does not specify the circumstances of the encounter that led to Gomez's death other than to say that the officers were performing a "vertical patrol despite directives not to do so" at which time they approached the decedent in the hallway of the building, shot him without probable cause, and failed to render or request timely medical assistance.
