Description: On May 26, 2012, Plaintiff was coming into her NYCHA building when officers began to surround her mother, who was nearby. Plaintiff informed them her mother was mentally ill, and then left for her stairwell. As Plaintiff passed two officers, one of them struck her head from behind. Defendant Officer Mitchell Atiles began dragging her by her hair while kicking her. Other officers watched and berated the Plaintiff. Plaintiff was cuffed and thrown into the back of a police SUV with her mother and held there for approximately 5 hours. The Plaintiff was eventually taken to the 33rd Precinct where she was handcuffed to a bench. There she was interrogated and offered $100 and cigarettes to inform on her neigh...
