Description: On October 17, 2011, Plaintiff entered a drugstore with a male companion. Upon approaching the front of the store, a security employee stopped and detained Plaintiff. Once Defendant NYPD Officer Jennings arrived at the scene, the security employee informed Defendant that a friend of Plaintiff's had stolen items from the store but had evaded capture, and that Plaintiff should be arrested instead. Upon agreement between Defendant Jennings and the security employee that a false complaint be brought against Plaintiff, Plaintiff was arrested. Plaintiff was subsequently prosecuted for two years. All charges against Plaintiff were ultimately dismissed.
