Complaint
Description: On May 5, 2018, PO Gloria Byrd approached Plaintiff and directed Plaintiff to leave the area even though Plaintiff was lawfully standing on a sidewalk. As Plaintiff walked away, PO Byrd followed Plaintiff and verbally taunted Plaintiff. Shortly thereafter, PO Byrd and other members of the NYPD violently handcuffed Plaintiff and falsely accused Plaintiff of having committed the crime of Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and the violation of Disorderly Conduct. A criminal action was commenced against the Plaintiff on or about May 6, 2018. This action was subsequently terminated in favour of the Plaintiff on April 17, 2019.
