Complaint
Description: On or about July 1, 2015, Plaintiff was at or near an apartment building when Plaintiff was profiled, searched, detained, assaulted, beaten and wrongfully arrested by Housing Bureau PSA 6 Officer Melissa Veliz, Officer Jean Francisco and other unknown officers for possessing a legal knife. Plaintiff was incarcerated at central booking for one day. The officers continued to maliciously prosecute Plaintiff despite video footage depicting the officer's clear misconduct. As a result, Plaintiff suffered physical, mental and emotional distress, resulting in the need to seek professional counseling.
