Description: On December 8, 2021, Plaintiffs were working when Plaintiff Santiago went to purchase a beverage and Officer Brian Doherty and others stopped Plaintiff Santiago. Defendant Officers falsely accused Plaintiff Santiago of a crime, twisted his arms and applied tight handcuffs that caused further pain. Plaintiffs explained that they were working and had committed no criminal offense, but were ignored. The Officers searched Plaintiff Santiago and his workplace and finally left after four hours. On December 14, 2021, Plaintiffs were lawfully present on a sidewalk when they were again stopped without reason. Description: On June 26, 2019, plaintiffs were lawfully in the vicinity of 5240 Broadway, Bronx, when defendant police officers, without any probable cause or legal justification, approached plaintiffs and summarily stopped, searched, grabbed, assaulted, battered, and detained them for no reason other than their age/race. Plaintiffs were handcuffed and arrested. While in custody, plaintiffs were strip-searched. During arraignment, plaintiffs were falsely prosecuted with committing a crime, but all charges were eventually terminated in plaintiffs' favor.
