Campbell, Malik vs City of New York, et al.
Case # 524359/2020, Supreme Court - Kings, March 9, 2021, ended December 7, 2021
$35,000 Settlement
Complaint
Description: On June 7, 2019, Plaintiff Malik Campbell was unlawfully stopped and searched by defendant NYPD Officers Imron Barakat, Karl Campbell, and John and Jane Does #1-8 at East 105th St and Farragut Road. He was then falsely accused of a robbery, although evidence within the officers' possession negated any indication that plaintiff was the perpetrator of this crime. Plaintiff was nevertheless arrested and transported to the 69th precinct, maliciously prosecuted, and incarcerated for approximately 3 days. His arrest and confinement prevented him from graduating high school in June 2019.
