Description: On August 22, 2017, Plaintiff was detained in a holding cell at the NYPD’s 44th Precinct located at 2 East 169th Street, Bronx, New York. On this date, while in police custody, Plaintiff was found hanging in his cell. Plaintiff alleges that the defendants’ negligence and failure to monitor Ortiz or prevent foreseeable harm led to his death by suicide.
