Description: On March 25, 2017, Leon Arline was standing on the sidewalk with his friends when Officers Caccavale and Zambrano approached him and asked for ID. While Arline was getting his ID, his friends pushed him away from the officers and a physical confrontation ensued. Arline was grabbed and thrown to the ground by the officers. Arline was charged with assaulting the officers, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, and several other offenses. At trial, Officer Caccavale gave misleading and false testimony against Arline. On information and belief, Officer Caccavale was recommended for a promotion due to his actions during this incident.

Description: On May 20, 2014, at approximately 6:00 AM, plaintiff were sleeping inside inside an apartment at 196 Maujer St. in Brooklyn. Defendant police officers broke open the door and entered the apartment. Defendants forced the plaintiffs, including the children, some barely clothed and without shoes, into the living room and then the hallway outside the apartment. Defendants detained and questioned plaintiff Katherine Melendez while she was forced to stand barely clothed in the kitchen. Defendants searched the apartment, destroying property, yet found no contraband. Defendants took plaintiffs' money in the apartment that was intended for rent.
