Description: On April 29, 2020, Plaintiff was detained and taken into custody by Defendant Officers and held at the police precinct. There was no probable cause or reasonable suspicion that Plaintiff had violated any laws. Plaintiff was held for a period between 12 and 24 hours at the precinct, during which time he was denied food, water, access to restroom facilities, and phone calls. After several hours Plaintiff was released without being formally charged with any crimes or violations. Plaintiff eventually obtained a "Decline to Prosecute" letter from the Bronx County District Attorney Office.

Description: On January 9, 2018, in the Bronx, Defendants NYPD Officers Ramos, Nunez, Doe and Roe, absent an arrest warrant, probable cause, reasonable cause or any legal justification, approached Plaintiff Rene Peterson for no reason, and based on fraud, perjury and misrepresentations, and summarily stopped, searched, grabbed, assaulted, battered, and detained him in an aggressive and excessive manner. As a result of this unlawful police conduct, Plaintiff suffered great and permanent bodily injury in and about his head, neck, back, body and limbs.
