Description: On June 18, 2013, a search warrant was issued based upon false representations to the court by defendant officers Baca and Amendola and other members of the NYPD. On June 19, 2013, the warrant was executed. As a result of the search, Plaintiffs were caused to be detained, searched, falsely arrested, wrongfully imprisoned, and charged with felony narcotics possession on the complaint of defendant Baca. Plaintiff Matthew Rios were present at the site of the search when he was arrested and wrongfully imprisoned without probable cause, where they were caused to sustain physical, mental, and emotional injuries.

Description: On August 26, 2011, PO Steven Amendola, Daniel Baca, Angel Bones, and others unlawfully entered Plaintiffs’ home without consent or a warrant. The officers assaulted and battered the plaintiffs, then unlawfully arrested them. The Plaintiffs were then transported to Central Booking, where they remained in custody for 24 hours. Two of the three Plaintiffs were released after the initial 24-hour period after the Bronx County DA declined to prosecute. The third Plaintiff was incarcerated for a further 4 days and subjected to malicious prosecution that was ultimately terminated in his favor.
