Description: On or about December 19, 2012, Plaintiff was assaulted and arrested by officers Nelson Ayala and Sherlon Smikle in the lobby of her building. During the assault, plaintiff had her legs swept from underneath her while her hands were held at her side. This resulted in her head hitting the concrete floor first with the weight of two male officers on top of her. Plaintiff was then handcuffed and lifted off the floor by her wrists an forced to sit on a bench until EMS arrived. She was then transported to the hospital where she was treated for her head injury. As a result of her injury she lost her job and sustained brain damage. Officers Ayala and Smikle did not file any charges against Plaintiff.
