Description: On November 28, 2021 at approximately 5:00 p, the defendant police officers, Alex Serrano (shield # 20206), Lt James Hart (shield #1570) and Sgt. Jung Kim (shield # 4046), unlawfully detained and arrested the plaintiff, Cardin Nelson in the vicinity of 241 Taffee Place, County of Kings, New York. Mr. Nelson was carrying out his duties as an overnight security guard at an LGBT homeless shelter when the defendant officers approached him and asked for his name and identification. When he responded that they did not have a warrant or probable cause, the defendant police officers forced their way into the premises and placed Mr. Nelson under arrest, using handcuffs that they applied in a fashion that was extremely t...
