Description: On June 24, 2023, Plaintiff was at an L train subway station in Canarsie, Brooklyn, when NYPD Officer Jimmy Jeanmary allegedly began harassing him under the mistaken belief that Butler had a marijuana cigarette in his hand. Officer Jeanmary, joined by Officer Denisha Pierre, assaulted Plaintiff, striking him multiple times and slamming his head into the ground, causing him to lose consciousness. Butler was arrested and taken to a precinct instead of receiving immediate medical attention. He was booked under a false name, and his requests for medical care were ignored until he began experiencing seizures several hours later. Description: On January 18, 2017, plaintiff was lawfully in the vicinity of Glenwood Road and Rockaway Parkway, Kings, and entering into a subway station using his MetroCard, when defendant police officers, without any reasonable cause or legal justification, approached plaintiff in a threatening and intimidating manner. Defendants then proceeded to stop plaintiff and grabbed him by his body and limbs without any legal basis. Defendants asked plaintiff to show his identification, and when plaintiff inquired the reason for this demand, defendants immediately began striking plaintiff and tackling him to the ground.
